Now if you were a serious Phineas and Ferb fan like me, you would know the show produced some of the greatest music in cartoon history. There were the bops like Back Yard Beach, Gitchee Gitchee Goo and Squirrels in My Pants. Recently, aka last night when I was waiting for my ride, The song Watching and Waiting popped in my head and I decided to find the video for it on YouTube. Best decision ever. I ended up on mini Phineas and Ferb marathon, singing the songs and spamming my friends with the links and I ended up on the song "There's A Platypus Controlling Me" by Dr. Doofenshmirtz. Listening to it again, I realized that this song is more powerful than it seems to be. The "punk rock" teens that Vanessa and her boyfriend were around used platypus as a metaphor to all the crazy things in society that controls our thinking. Moral of the story. Society is a platypus (well Perry The Platypus). Society has "norms" that are set in stone that if you do not fit the criteria, something is extremely wrong with you or you a seriously judged. Society has created this "you must do this in order to be this or that" stigma that is currently controlling all of us, if we want to accept it or not. WE ALL GOT A PLATYPUS CONTROLLING US 🗣💃🏾
