I would like to apologize for my absence but somebody need to compose and write a song called God Bless Shamar (with soca, dancehall and grime vibes) Like foreal. Today in Kam's Corner we are going to talk about a three letter word that is more of a norm now in our generation. We will be discussing three points that have to deal with sex. Protection Today we have the resources and tools to educate the population (both young and old) about the importance of safe sex. Our problem is, persons are afraid to talk about it because they feel it would encourage the young kids to go out and have sex. Don't you realise that not educating them on what and what not do will cause greater harm? We live in a world that is thriving with various STDs and STI which most of them can be deadly. It is always important to protect yourself, not matter who you are having a sexual relationship with. You never know how you can slip up and mess with the wrong person. This is why you should always get tested. No matter how clean you think your partner(s) might be. Always get tested. It is important for you health and the health of your sexual partners. If you are a person who have an STD and and STI please in form your sexual partner. It is not only immorally wrong but you can catch a serious court case for it as well. Lastly, always make sure the fellas wrap up. Even though condoms do not 100% prevent pregnancies, it is better than going in straight raw. Always wrap the willy guys. Importance of the word "NO" When your partner says NO (and there is not all that intense role play or whatever, because some of y'all 👀), it is no. Plain and simple. Anything after that is considered rape. Rape has been such a touchy subject for many years, just because persons are scared. Females are worried that no one would believe them and that they are just trying to ruin the man's life and males won't dare report such case, especially not to tarnish there reputation. And yes a man can get rape (legally no, but morally and obviously physically yet.) @ ME IF YOU THINK OTHER WISE. Why are persons scared that we live in an openly sexual liberated society? 2017 is the year where you would find random porn on your twitter timeline, the songs sing about it, sexually poetry is more excepted and we are finding out who we are as humans sexually quickly and with more certainty. The problem is, persons fear that this society has corrupt our generation and is corrupting the future generations from a young age. The true reason, persons are afraid to address these issues with children at a younger age. They have to the tools to search up and find out any and everything as soon as those hormones kick in. What is your job as parents? Educate them. Educate them on what is wrong and what is right. Do not scorn television shows that portray gay and/or lesbian relations, transsexual views, for you don't know if your harsh words is pushing your children deeper into a closet. Don't worry. Everything is going to be okay. We need understand that sex has develop over the years, something more than just act to reproduce. Yes there are many negatives that come with it, like there are many negatives that comes with every thing else we do in life. Sex has become a way of expression and art. Sex has become a job for some. Sex is just a whole lifestyle that sometimes we are too afraid to talk about. I encourage everyone, to find out what they like and what they don't like sexually, once you are the age and you are educated on the ways to protect yourself. Ladies, go ahead and deal with the amount of persons you want to deal with Make sure to follow us on twitter and instagram @islandgalting for all IslanGalTing updates.

Before I start I want to send a big shout out to the bro Shamar. The real OG, the realest thing ever for giving me this idea. Make sure you check his brand TRPKL STORM on insta and twitter @trpklstorm. Support the bro fam. Do it. Growing up, I never had long flowing hair. My hair was considered as the "short nappy, balls hair" no legit, a dude told me in my first year in high school that I had balls hair now he has no friends and everyone is looking for him... OOPS ☕ But growing up it was always about who had the "softest, longest, whose hair is closest to straight naturally hair. In primary school everyone wanted to straighten their hair. If your hair wasn't relaxed at a certain period of time, it was a problem. Many parents encouraged this because it was easier to deal with in the morning. Many girls also liked it because it stretch their hair and they saw their true length. Moving on the later years in high school, many girls tend to regret straightening their hair and go through the big chop phase. Now this post is not anti-perm hair, because I love to see (and smell) fresh relaxed hair straight out of the salon, but this is a natural hair appreciation post. So pull out your shampoo, conditioners, leave -ins and mousses and turn up on the natural side.. For decades, natural hair has been a form of protest in institutions, stating that it is to wild and it is a distraction. Many of these institutions or persons who agree with "everyone should relax their hair" are all results of serious "white washing". Persons think that because their hair is straight like their Caucasian neighbour, that means they are smarter and/or more approachable. Which I find quite stupid. Sadly, this ideal is expressed by many persons in the black community. There is traits of colonialism and institutionalization ingrained in our brains that "straight and neat" is professional. It is downgraded that nappy is bad hair and straight or extremely "coolie" hair is good hair. In the words of an woke older Caribbean man (aka my Grandfather) "Don't come to me with that nice hair stupidness. All hair is good hair. Black people always trying to downgrade each other. All hair is good hair. All hair is beautiful" Hair is and should be a form of expression and represents your personality. The colour or the style of your hair should not determine your intelligence and what type of persons you are. Locs does not make you weed heads and conrows does not make you hood. Talking about locs and conrows..... YES I AM SHADING ALL OF YOU PEOPLE WHO STEAL MY CULTURE TALKING ABOUT "NEW TREND" BOOO BYEEEE. Moisturize your hair. Use castor and coconut oil. Drink a lot of water. Love you guys Comment below your thoughts about how natural hair is viewed in the black community and in society. Oh. And P.S. Shamar said that those who do not appreciate natural black hair in the black community..... you are self- loathing muddascunts.💀 Still follow his brand on twitter and instagram @trpklstorm 😁😁 Make sure you connect with us on twitter and instagram @islandgalting.
Serpent Slithering and sliding, quietly gazing in the grass. They watch you, analyze you, to see how far. How far they can drag you, to finally choke and kill you. They morph into something great. Full of hugs smiles and sweet kisses, that has a trace of poision lingering inside. They check on you everyday and everynight and slid back to enemies base and fill in their report with everything you did in their sight. Learn your weaknesses, demote your strengths, just by watching, grazing in the sign. For when the time to attack, it will be soo meak and low. It will hit you a like silent night and you wonder why they would. When did this beautiful creature turn into an evil serpent. Slowly choking you, taking in your soul. You put soo much hard work into them, just for it to fade away. Leave you sitting in shame. The serpent slithers and slides away, laughing at your pain. Leaving you in shame. -K.Gumbs 12/28/16 I Don't Care.
In my best Trini accent, I simply say "I don't care" Cause they way you talk about me, look at me, has no effect on me. In my best Trini accent, I roll my eyes and say "I don't care" If my life decisions that benefit me, disregard you and that I am now quote and quote selfish because I finally thought about me. In my best Trini accent, I shake my head chuckling and say "I don't care" For your emotions towards me does not determine the value of my life. You got the warning and still wanted to play with the fire. But then In my best Trini accent, I boastly say, "I don't care" But my heart slowly starts to ache when I hear other peoples pain. The brain starts to go in a frenzy. Saying you neeed to care. Help them Knowing there is no way I can. I shake that off a bit and In my best Trini accent, I scream and say, "I don't care" For when a bond is created and secrets are shared. The bond breaks drastically. And every word, breath has an effect. But then I realise that.. I have to say it loud and louder in my best Trini accent "I don't care" To show that your actions does not determine my happiness That it is my life I make my own decisions I learn from the loses And gain from the wins And that your nagging input Has nothing to do with it For I do not fucking care about your feelings I do not fucking care about your words. Your actions The only thing I need to and should care about it God, Me and My Family. -K.Gumbs 12/29/16 I would call February the official new year for us in the Caribbean. Well when it comes to partying of course. February is where countries like Trinidad, Haiti, French Saint Martin Curacao, Aruba and others host their Carnival. Their own ties with tradition of partying before the starting of Lent. With one set of Carinivals in the book, we need to sit down and talk on how persons view my culture. Now people find the way we dress and dance during mas is quite... inappropriate. In a sense that we promote vulgarity to a sense of sexual movements and that we are showing too much skin. Personally, you would not catch me in a costume because I am not comfortable wearing stuff like that but that does not to give you the right (especially you non-West Indians) to bash the hard work and dedication that are put into these costumes on a yearly basis. Most of them are hand made and cost hundreds of dollars, I think they are allowed to wear their costume. And for those who only like to hype up celebs for wearing them. Goodbye. For those who like to downgrade our dancing... No we are not having sex in the middle of the street (well sometimes 😂), we just have serious rhythm and know how to move our waist. It is not that complicated. Carinival is one of the biggest platform the islands use to celebrate their culture. It gives a sense of unity and friendship amoung the people as well as celebrate our old culture and new culture through costumes, music and food (the foood 😍). It is such a great time of year, Kes The Band and David Rudder wrote a song called "Life Yuh Life" and it talks about living your life you playing mas. Always looking out for each other and being kind. At the end of the day, we are not attention seekers wearing skimpy clothing and shaking our butts like we have no sense, we are living our everyday culture on a bigger scale. So kindly, please. STOP SLUT SHAMING MY CULTURE. MEANWHILE, I WILL LISTEN TO FULL EXTREME BY ULTIMATE REJECTS WAITING FOR MY CARNIVAL IN APRIL Make sure to follow us on twitter and instagram at @islandgalting, for all IslandGalTing updates
